Important Information to Consider

No Surprises Act

The federal 'No Surprises Act' is a new law that took effect January 1, 2022, and aims to reduce unexpected medical bills for patients. You have a right to know how much your medical and mental healthcare will cost.

Fees

Therapy can be costly in some senses. I never want counseling to be a financial burden, and this is why I am very open about fees/payments. Oftentimes people will equate therapy services to an investment in yourself and your relationships. Consider how much we spend on hair, nails, hobbies, etc. Oftentimes people choose to spend more on therapy, especially when it is a good match and you feel that it benefits you and increases your quality of life. If at any point you feel that this is not the case, I urge you to discuss this with your therapist.

Please reach out if you are interested in knowing more about this! I'd be more than happy to offer more information.

Confidentiality

Therapy is a safe and contained space. I am legally and ethically bound to maintain your privacy. Clients should know that anything they discuss in the safety of our teletherapy sessions will not be discussed elsewhere. The only exceptions to this rule are if I believe you are an imminent danger to yourself, others, or hear of elder, child, or vulnerable adult abuse. Discreet and appropriate psychotherapy notes are held in a HIPAA compliant EHR system. I also seek out consultation and growth through supervision, and even then the information is required to be vague and only relevant information shared.

What to Expect

When you send me an email I will respond within 1-3 business days. At this time we can set up a fifteen minute free consultation where we can see if we are the right "fit." (This is not necessary if you know that you'd like to schedule immediately). Following this I would send you intake forms and begin the process of onboarding. To be effective, therapy sessions are generally scheduled once weekly. That being said, to keep therapy affordable you may also decide that every other week is more doable. At this time I am available from 9-3pm Monday-Friday. Please contact me for exact availability!

Supervision and the LMFTA License

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. I graduated from a COAMFTE accredited university and am working toward full licensure in Washington state. LMFTA's are required to gain a certain amount of supervised hours. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to me or my supervisor.

Supervisor's License Number:

How can I take insurance if I am an associate?

Though I operate my own PLLC, I have business agreements with Lemon Squeezy and The Healing Collective. They allow me to take certain insurances, have access to community, and continue my education as I am legally required.
